Abstract:
ABSTRACT
The change in climatic conditions and geographical features leads to the
changes of water quality parameters inside the tank. With the passage of time,
sediments get deposited on walls, ceiling and floor of the water tank. This
contamination makes the water unfit for use. Hence water tank cleaning is
important. In current scenario, cleaning of overhead tanks manually is a tedious
job especially in households or buildings where the residents are ladies or older
peoples. The objective of this project is to develop an automatic system for
cleaning the overhead water tanks. As periodic cleaning is sufficient in this case,
the system uses a count value, thus assuring the period has reached. It is done by
counting the number of times the tank fills. If the period has reached, the system
ensures the requirement of cleaning by measuring turbidity. Pressurized water
through a nozzle arrangement is the technique adapted here for cleaning.
